My career for 18 years in hospitality was a management of relationships, exceeding budgets and staying relevant with market trends to ensure we were connecting with the right audience. All of this while leading teams and traveling a week or more every month throughout the year. This balancing act brought on a tremendous amount of stress and desire to figure out a skillset that could help me manage the professional and personal demands that weighed heavy on me.
The first proficiency that was my focus was to find stillness within all the movement. When landing anywhere in the world I found that home away from home – a place to breathe on my mat. Mindful movement with yoga was my first lesson on the Mindfulness Path and aided in understanding the mind body connection, where emotions landed in my body and how much breath awareness contributed to my feeling of well-being.
A Place to Breathe was created because I saw the opportunity to share this mindfulness practice to teams and individuals who face that same same hectic lifestyle and have the desire to manage it.
